Light Bright and Easily Manoeuvrable Space

This overgrown front garden was becoming a problem for an elderly couple who wanted it tidied up and made easy to manoeuvre the wheelie bins. The neighbours had retained their metal railing and the couple wanted to replace their overgrown hedge to have continuity of railing as they shared the building.

Removing the hedge, old crazy paving and edging stones created a whole new front garden space. Planning the paving to be a continual flat area so the wheelie bins could easily be moved around was an important factor. The cobbled path leading up to the front door gave the paving a proper division while still making sure it was kept level and matching. The cherry tree was relocated to create a new view from the front room window. The steps were enhanced by fixing matching slabs on top to complete the flow and I sourced a Blacksmith to design and fit a new railing in the same style as the neighbours’.

The finished front garden is light and bright and more space for manoeuvring without any difficulty. Pots of flowers give seasonal colour.
